Australia Awards scholars at Flinders University in South Australia
This year 1330 Australia Awards scholars commenced study in first semester at 41 tertiary institutions across the country.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) would like to extend a warm welcome to these new arrivals who have travelled from around 51 countries to study with us in Australia.
Australia Awards scholars have already enjoyed meeting other recipients from the same institution at the Introductory Academic Program. This program gives newly arrived scholars a chance to settle in and prepare for living and studying in Australia—as pictured at Flinders University.
Scholars will also have the opportunity to meet awardees from across their state or territory at the upcoming DFAT Australia Awards Welcome and Farewell Celebrations planned mid-year in every capital city.
The Welcome and Farewell Celebrations have proven to be a great opportunity for professional networking as they bring together newly arrived and graduating scholars along with representatives from the government, business and tertiary sectors.
We wish our new arrivals every success in their chosen fields of study and an enjoyable stay in Australia.
