Australia Awards student receives QUT leadership prize

Nalongded Luanglath, studying a Bachelor of Business (Hons) at QUT has an impressive academic and leadership record.
​It is not often that you come across a student who excels academically, has exceptional personal qualities, and still has time to help out his colleagues.

But Bachelor of Business (Hons) student Nalongded Luanglath, was recognised for just this, when he was named QUT Alumni Student Leader of the Year 2017 in May.
The Australia Awards recipient has an impressive academic record. During his Bachelor of Business degree, Nalongded achieved a GPA of 6.75 and was awarded the Dean’s award For Excellence. He also received QUT’s International Undergraduate Prize and his Australia Awards scholarship was extended.
His track record of helping his fellow international students to success is also unwavering. Nalongded founded the QUT Lao Student Club, has served as Treasurer for the Business and Management Student Association, is a founding member of the Australia Awards Club and is an Australia Awards mentor.
Nalongded also served as the President of the Lao Student Association of Queensland and is an active role model for young people with disabilities in Laos.
The QUT Alumni Student Leadership Awards aim to recognise students for the quality of their leadership and engagement with the university and wider communities.
